'''Geode Field''' is the fifth bay of [[Drift Network|Assay Row]]'s west wall, an outdoor stretch of the Obsidian Plains built around a single tall crystal spire. It is not a harvest node like its neighbors: the field is a staged fight, three waves deep, and the reward is cut out of what is standing at the end of it.

== Overview ==
Stepping through the bay's portal drops a character on the northern edge of a wide sweep of dark, rolling terrain, amethyst formations scattered across the whole span. The Amethyst Spire, a twenty-metre crystal column, stands at the field's centre and is the only thing in the bay worth touching. Setting a hand against it starts the fight: the spire calls in three Wardens at a time, in three waves, each wave arriving on a tighter ring around the column than the last. Once the third wave falls, the spire calls in one more thing - the Amethyst Archon, larger and tougher than anything that came before it.

A scattering of Amethyst Wardens and inert amethyst formations stand watch across the wider field between runs, spaced clear of the spire's own fighting ground, so the long walk in from the drop point is not an empty one.

== Inhabitants ==
* [[Amethyst Warden]] - the field's golem population. A handful stand watch across the field, and the spire calls in nine more, three per wave, when it is activated.
* [[Amethyst Archon]] - the boss. It only appears once all three Warden waves have been cleared at the spire.
* Amethyst Seedling and Amethyst Cluster formations dot the field as scenery - dense stands of crystal growth that dress the ground but cannot be interacted with.

== Harvest ==
Geode Field has no mining tool. The bay's reward is a single Raw Amethyst Geode, and the only source of it is the Amethyst Archon: felling the boss drops exactly one, guaranteed, every time the wave sequence is finished. The Wardens along the way carry no quest material at all - only incidental trophies.

Each wave the spire has called stays called for half an hour before it can be called again, so a field that has just been run through will not answer a second party for a while.

== Access ==
The entry portal, also named Geode Field, sits in the Assay Row alcove on the Drift Network's west wall and only opens for a character who has already been taught Serpentine by [[Ulgrath the Grain-Reader]] at the previous bay. The exit portal at the field, named Drift Network, leads back to the hub, arriving near [[Slotwright Yusra Tannim]]'s stand. Yusra is the craftsperson who runs the bench this bay unlocks: bring her the geode and she teaches Amethyst.
