New page

Patch 2026-08-16 - the Assay Row round. The Drift Network south wing gains its west wall: seven mining bays that teach the six crafting materials one by one and end in a Class Ability Point. Alongside it, Tiger Eye becomes an armor tinker, a new forge turns a stack of salvage bags into a reusable hammer, the south-wing door gates move up, and two new commands report your experience progress and your equipment mods. This page covers everything player-facing since Patch 2026-08-08.

New content
* Assay Row opens. Across the hall from the Meridian's six-door ladder, the south wing's west wall now holds seven alcoves, each with a portal down into a mine or quarry and a Meridian craftsperson who trades a collection task for a lesson. Six of them teach one crafting material each - Prismatic, Tiger Eye, Tourmaline, Serpentine, Amethyst and Obsidian - and hand over the tool that works it: a Prismatic Drift Stone from the first bay, a ten-charge Hammer of the material from each of the others. The bays run in a fixed order (bay 2, Tiger Eye, stands apart from the chain and needs only level 30) and each portal past the first refuses entry until the previous material has been taught. The seventh alcove, Firecut, has no material of its own: it is a two-boss fight on a platform ringed with live magma, and Assay-Warden Vittorio Sarra pays a Class Ability Point once, ever, to a character who has walked the whole wall and put both bosses down. Kill credit for the bosses is shared with your fellowship. See Assay Row for the wall, and Peculiar Stone, Banded Adit, Open Cut, Grain Quarry, Geode Field, Glass Shaft and Firecut for the bays.
* The Salvage Forge. Salvage-Broker Bevan Tolliver sells a Sealed Hollow Hammer for one Trade Note. Unsealed and used on a full bag of Tiger Eye, Obsidian, Tourmaline, Amethyst or Serpentine salvage, it consumes that bag and several more full bags of the same material from your pack and forges a full ten-charge Hammer of it. How many bags it takes depends on your own skill in the matching tinkering line - ten for an untrained hand, down to seven for a master.
* A Tiger Eye Hammer. Bevan now stocks a ten-charge Sealed Tiger Eye Hammer for ten Trade Notes alongside the Serpentine and Obsidian ones, and his shelf is now laid out with each material's bag next to its Hammer.
* <code>/xp</code> reports your real experience progress. The character panel's "XP for next level" line is worked out by the game client from a chart that ends at level 275, so above that it shows a large and growing negative number. The new command reports the truth from the server: your level, the experience to the next one and how far through the band you are, your total, and your unassigned experience. At the level ceiling it says so plainly.
* <code>/mods</code> summarises your equipment mods. One line per bonus across everything you have equipped, added up; <code>/mods items</code> lists them piece by piece. See Equipment Mods.

Changes and tuning
* Tiger Eye is now an armor tinker, not a mod roll. A bag of Tiger Eye salvage used on a never-tinkered piece of armor (or head, hand or foot clothing) works one to five steel armor tinkers into it at once, at +20 armor level each, and settles one random equipment mod into it besides, at ordinary roll strength. It then permanently closes the piece to any further tinkering - Obsidian included, so whatever gear ratings the piece carried are sealed in with it. Shields take the tinkers but not the mod. It no longer mints a mod onto an unrated item, which was the whole of what it did before. See Custom Crafting and Equipment Mods.
* The Attuned Drift Prisms are gone. The eight elemental prisms have been withdrawn from the game entirely, and Bevan no longer stocks them. Nothing else about the Prismatic Drift Stone changed.
* The south-wing door gates have moved up. The hard minimum level to step through each of the six Meridian doors is now 30 for Busy Door, 40 for Rusting Door, 60 for Held Door, 70 for Breathing Door, 90 for Miscounted Door and 100 for First Pin (they were 25 through 50). The halls behind them are tuned as before; the doors simply no longer let you in early. The Assay Row bays carry their own gates on the same scale, from no gate at the first bay to level 100 at Firecut.
* The Other Shoulder is easier again. The sealed second boss of Held Door has its attack and defence skills cut by a quarter and its swing damage halved; it no longer hits as hard as the Line-Captain in the hall outside.
* Custom monsters pay a fifth less experience. Every custom monster on the server had been paying a 25% uplift over the experience band for its level; that uplift has been withdrawn, so a kill now pays exactly its band. A Doorheld Escort, for example, comes down from 84,000 to 67,200. Bosses and starter-arc creatures were retuned on the same rule. Every creature page and the Bestiary carry the new figures.
* Breathing Door's Olthoi no longer pay Luminance. The Matron of the Long Breath and her Drift-Touched drones and soldiers were the only creatures on the wing carrying a Luminance award; it has been removed. Their experience is unchanged.
* The Iron Sill's trash no longer casts debuffs. The Iron-Gorged, Gilded and Tarnished creatures fight with their bodies alone now.
* Loot at tiers 7 and 8 rolls its own workmanship. Those tiers had been drawing workmanship from the tier 6 table. They now have tables of their own that lean higher: the chance of a workmanship 10 piece is 8% at tier 7 and 15% at tier 8, against 5% before.
* Ilseriane the Recollector has dropped the dead gems. The Marketplace respec vendor no longer stocks Forgetfulness or Enlightenment gems for the six retired weapon skills (Unarmed Combat, Crossbow, Mace, Spear, Staff, Thrown Weapon), which nobody can hold. Every gem for a living skill is still on the shelf.

Fixes
* Bloodlust keeps its Salvaging rider when Salvaging is specialized by augmentation. The rider dropped out for characters whose Salvaging had been specialized through the augmentation. It now pays whether Salvaging is Trained or Specialized. See Class Abilities.
* Frenzy's peak announcement quotes the real bonus. The chat line that fires when Frenzy peaks was restating only the base per-stack rate; the buff you were actually swinging with, including your Recklessness rider and any Frenzied Pace mod, was always right. The line now says the same number the buff applies.
* Ring and burst spells reach up and down ramps. A class-ability area spell's secondary blasts were aimed flat, so a target standing above or below the first one on a slope was missed even when it was well inside range. The blast now aims at the target's actual height.
* A refused ability-token purchase no longer looks like it cost you points. Trying to buy a class ability token from a tier you have not unlocked was rejected by the server without charging anything, but the shop panel's point counter was left showing the deduction, and a stack of the same token could be bought past its price. Both are fixed: the panel re-syncs on a refusal, and buying several copies of a token at once is refused instead of charging for each.
