Portals and Transportation covers the portal hubs on DreamWeave and where each one can take you.

Dereth is large and most of it is a long walk. DreamWeave keeps four hubs, each a single room you can reach quickly and step out of anywhere on the map. The Marketplace is the one you will use most: every other hub is one portal away from it.

The Marketplace

The Marketplace is the centre of the network. Recall to it and you are one step from everywhere else.

Portal Goes to
Town Network The retail town hub, plus six destinations added on this server
Drift Network The Drift Network, the server's own realm
Abandoned Mine The travel hub below, with 24 destinations
Proving Grounds (Attack) Combat arena, attack trial
Proving Grounds (Defense) Combat arena, defense trial
Proving Grounds (Wave) Combat arena, twenty-wave trial

The Town Network

The retail town hub, reached from the Marketplace. Alongside the towns it has always carried, six further destinations have been added on this server. None of them has a level requirement.

Destination Where it stands
Ayan Baqur West far central alcove
Candeth Keep South far central alcove
Wai Jhou East far central alcove
Asheron's Castle Lower Chamber of South Annex
Crater Lower Chamber of South Annex
Bandit Castle Lower Chamber of South Annex

The Abandoned Mines

The old Abandoned Mines have been cleared out and turned into a travel hub. Nothing hostile lives there now. The portal in from the Marketplace drops you in the main chamber; three side passages lead off it, each lined with portals you can walk between.

Many of these destinations are dangerous places, and most keep the level and access requirements they have always had. A portal you do not yet meet the requirement for will simply refuse you.

Four portals back out to the hubs, all open to everyone.

Tips

  • Recall to the Marketplace and work outward. Every hub is one portal from it.
  • The mines are safe to stand in, so it is a reasonable place to stop and pick a destination rather than deciding before you set out.
  • Portals fire when you walk into them. In the mine passages the portals line the walls and the middle of each passage is clear, so walk down the centre if you are just passing through.
  • Two of the mine portals, Withered and Valley of Death, are open to everyone regardless of level. The places they lead to are not necessarily safe for a low-level character.
