Patch 2026-08-03 build a8f91d0b1

Patch 2026-08-03 - the Blood Mage round. A seventh class joins Class Abilities, life magic stops being the school nobody fights with, the Training bundles are re-cut so no skill sits in two of them, and a hub of two dozen travel portals opens under the Marketplace. This page covers everything player-facing since Patch 2026-07-30.

New content

  • The Blood Mage is the seventh class. Eleven abilities across three tiers, built around harmful life magic: land Harm, Drain or Hecatomb to bank Blood Charges worth +7% life damage each, mark a target with Weakened Blood so everyone hitting it hurts more, spend your own health for damage with Blood Price, and dump a full charge pool at triple value with Exsanguinate. It also has the class's answer to being a life caster in a group: Transfusion takes the Drain surplus that used to be thrown away and cascades it to nearby fellows and your own pets.
  • Marrow Vance, the Blood Mage trainer, now keeps the fourth slot along the south wall of the Meridian's hall in the Drift Network. He is the only place to buy the Blood Mage line.
  • Six life-magic casters. The Driftwarden Provisioner now stocks the Driftwarden Blood Wand, a fixed starter caster wieldable at level 12 with 50 Life Magic, carrying +8% life-spell damage and a Health resistance cleave. Three more - the Driftwarden Sanguine Wand, Sanguine Orb and Sanguine Staff - drop as loot and roll up to roughly +11% at the top tier. Two named rares sit above the natural ceiling: Heartsbane at +20%, and The Last Transfusion at +25%.
  • The Abandoned Mines are a travel hub. The old dungeon has been cleared out and refitted with 24 destination portals across four rooms, reached through a new portal in the Marketplace. Alongside the town and Drift Network returns you will find the Direlands landbridges, Aerlinthe, Vissidal, Dark Isle, Obsidian Plains, the Singularity Bore and Caul, the Insatiable Vault, the Tusker King, Desolation Beach, Snowy Valley, the Graveyard and more. Several carry the same level or quest requirements their original portals always did.
  • Ostravan the Pack Seller has opened a Marketplace stall selling the Caravaneer's Pack - a 48-slot container - for 100,000 pyreals, in ten colours.
  • Yamira bint Sabra the Apothecary sells healing kits and potions in the Marketplace, and Ilseriane the Recollector sells every skill and attribute respec gem there.
  • Ealdred the barber has set up in the Marketplace. A haircut costs one Trade Note, the same as it always did.
  • Salvage Hammers. Salvage-Broker Bevan Tolliver now stocks Tourmaline, Amethyst and Obsidian Hammers - the same conversion a salvage bag performs, but ten uses per hammer instead of one, with the client's own uses-remaining bar showing what is left. Ten Trade Notes each, so it is a convenience rather than a discount.
  • Six more Town Network portals. Ayan Baqur, Candeth Keep and Wai Jhou fill the three empty centre alcoves of the main hall, and a lower chamber has opened beneath the floor holding portals to the Crater, Bandit Castle and Asheron's Castle.
  • Garbage barrels. Seven of them, four in the Town Network hub and three in the Marketplace. Give one an item and it is destroyed on the spot, with no confirmation - so be deliberate. Attuned items can be thrown away this way; a few permanently-bound items cannot.

Changes and tuning

  • Harm hits like a real attack now. Every rung of Harm Other and the Incantation was raised to roughly 65% of the same-tier war bolt, from as little as a fifth of it. Harm Other I now does 12-19 where it did 4-6, and the Incantation does 92-134 where it did 50-95. This cuts both ways: the monsters that cast Harm at you hit correspondingly harder. Note that the spell's own tooltip still shows the old figures - the damage is what changed, not the description.
  • Harm and Drain Health can now land critical hits. They never could before.
  • Life casters finally matter. A caster's damage bonus and resistance cleaving now apply to the life school the way they always have to war and void, which is what makes the new Sanguine family worth carrying.
  • Curse of Raven Fury does half as much per projectile. Its 50% self-health cost is unchanged. The spell was scaled for a school that had no weapon multipliers; it has them now.
  • The Training bundles were re-cut. No legacy skill sits in two bundles any more, so there is exactly one class to buy for any given affinity. In short: Archer Training swaps Jump for Missile Defense; Rogue Training picks up Sneak Attack and Deception and drops Assess Person and Item Tinkering; Vanguard Training drops Healing and picks up Assess Person; Archmage Training drops Item Enchantment; Void Training narrows to Loyalty and Leadership; and the new Blood Mage Training takes Healing, Creature Enchantment and Cooking. Full tables on Class Abilities.
  • Some abilities moved tier, and two retired. Crit Damage Rating moved down to Rogue Tier 2 and Enhanced Max Mana down to Archmage Tier 1, both cheaper to reach than before. Enhanced Magic Defense is new at Archmage Tier 2, alongside Mana Barrier which reads it. Enhanced Heavy Weapons replaces Advanced Weaponry at Vanguard Tier 1, and Questionable Tactics is gone, its skills absorbed into Rogue Training. Enhanced Life Magic has moved from Archmage Tier 3 to Blood Mage Tier 1.
  • Two affinities have no class raising them at the moment. Acid Proc reads Item Tinkering and Executioner reads Dirty Fighting, and neither skill currently sits in a Training bundle. Both abilities work normally - only the extra scaling has no class-ability source right now.
  • Class ability tokens are prepaid, and priced correctly. You pay a token's Class Ability Point cost once, when you buy it from the trainer; using it afterwards to learn the rank costs nothing further. A separate pricing fault that was overcharging for many tokens has been corrected.
  • Trade Notes stack to 1,000, up from 250, on all eight denominations.
  • Respec gems cost 250,000 pyreals and can no longer be sold back. They previously had no value at all, which meant a gem you were given could be turned straight into pyreals at a vendor.
  • The fourth quest-stamp reward tier arrives at 750 stamps, not 1,000. The tiers are 100, 250, 500 and 750, counted across your whole account.
  • Banking improvements. Trade Notes withdraw as proper stacks; Silver, Gold and Pyreal Peas deposit as pyreals at face value; banked Luminance now counts when an NPC checks whether you can afford something; and /b ad toggles automatic deposit of vendor proceeds per character.
  • Summon 2x calls both pets from one activation instead of needing two.
  • South wing boss defenses were brought in line with comparable retail bosses. The first two doors were then put back to where they were after live feedback.
  • The Held Door boss respawns. Line-Captain Isaure Vellamy is no longer a one-time kill.
  • Proving Grounds (Wave) now runs on a clock: five minutes per wave, and a run ends if you deal no damage for two and a half minutes. Prodigal spells were taken out of the rare-gem reward pool; Incantations and Auras stay.
  • The Gym is gone. The proof-of-concept test area and the portal that reached it have been removed.

Fixes

  • Every equipment mod now rolls with a floor, so a mod can no longer land on your gear doing nothing at all.
  • Enlightened characters were shown a maximum health the server would not actually heal them to. The panel now shows the real number.
  • A stripped buff bug in the Proving Grounds wave arena was removing your own self-cast buffs along with the arena's gear strip.
  • Salvage Hammers show the client's uses-remaining bar correctly.
  • The Iron Sill's Carenzi were dropping trophies belonging to the ordinary retail creature they were copied from.
  • A magical roll on a Sanguine caster was granting a war bolt instead of a life spell.

Known issues

  • Spell detail panels for Harm still display the pre-patch damage figures. The damage dealt is correct; only the description is stale.
