Patch 2026-08-19 build e2ff56f92

Patch 2026-08-19 - the crafting room round. The Marketplace grows six crafting stations that rework gear for Trade Notes, a spell tutor who teaches all five schools for coin, and a free tinkering pedestal; White Quartz becomes the eighth rending imbue; the weapon mod catalog turns over five damage rows for nine utility ones; every class ability is repriced and the Berserker and Rogue get reworked kits; fellowships gain consent rules and stop splitting quest experience; and monsters past level 185 start paying Luminance. This page covers everything player-facing since Patch 2026-08-16.

New content

  • The Marketplace Crafting Stations. A row of stations in and around the Marketplace's crafting room reworks gear you hand over, paid in Trade Notes drawn from your pack first and your banked pyreals after. The Workmanship Reforge (10 notes) rerolls an item's workmanship, 4 to 10 and always different; the Arcane Alignment Table (5 notes) shifts an Arcane Lore requirement by a random step from -10 to +5, never above the value the item was born with; the Defense Requirement Reforge (5 notes) does the same to a Melee, Missile or Magic Defense wield requirement; the Weaver's Loom (10 notes) extends any partial-coverage undergarment to full coverage, re-cutting the classic tailoring families into their full-length siblings; the Brewer's Cauldron (25 notes) boils one random level-VIII spell or cantrip off a piece of looted jewelry and settles one of six +50 attribute blessings in its place; and the Tinkerer's Inspiration pedestal grants a free minute of top-shelf tinkering buffs, no cooldown. Each station has an attendant to explain it, asks for confirmation naming the price, and never keeps the item.
  • Vaelith the Omni-School Professor. One Marketplace NPC now teaches the taught spell lists of all five magic schools, levels I through VII. Tell him the school and level - war 3, life magic seven - and he charges the town professors' own rates in pyreals, pack coin first and then your bank. He tells you how many of the level's spells will be new to you before you agree. The town professors keep their posts.
  • Life joins the rending family. A bag of Salvaged White Quartz is now an imbue salvage: applied to a caster, it grants Life Rending, which bites through a target's resistance to life-magic damage the way Flame Rend bites through fire. Casters only, because only harmful life spells deal that damage, and the usual imbue rules apply - one imbue per item, one-in-three odds on the ordinary bag. A guaranteed Foolproof White Quartz is on the Colosseum Coin Collector for 30 coins. Bags looted before this patch remain plain salvage; only fresh White Quartz carries the imbue.
  • Monsters past level 185 pay Luminance. Every monster of level 185 and up now carries a Luminance award scaled to its experience value - roughly 200 per kill at level 185, 1,000 at level 300, 5,000 at level 500. Below 185 nothing changes, and Luminance still shares through a fellowship under the same rules as experience. See Monster experience.

Changes and tuning

  • The weapon mod catalog turns over. Five modifiers are retired - Swift Flight, Life Leech, Mana Leech, Stamina Leech and Overload - and no longer roll or function. Nine utility modifiers take their place: Efficiency, Recovery, Mana Well, Cleanse, Longevity, Siphon, Quick Refresh, Arcane Defender and Panic Reload, covering cheaper attacks and spells, faster regeneration, item mana on a kill, enchantment stripping and stealing, longer and faster self-buffs, a caster's phantom shield, and a bowman's close-quarters speed. The catalog now stands at twenty-two; a weapon still carrying a retired modifier gets nothing from it, and a Tourmaline reroll draws from the current pool. See Weapon Mods for the full table.
  • Every class ability repriced. The point cost of nearly every ability came down, and the rating abilities are now priced line by line. A maxed class now runs 36 to 57 points end to end, by class. Tier unlock costs and requirements are unchanged, and a respec refunds at the new prices. The tables on Class Abilities carry every new number.
  • The Berserker trades Blood Fury for Break Armor. Blood Fury is retired; in its place the Berserker's melee hits have a flat 15% chance to break the target's armor - an unresistable Imperil at III, V or VII by rank, which the Blood Mage's Malediction amplifies like any other. Characters who owned Blood Fury have its points refunded automatically at their next login, and the Blood Fury equipment mod on existing gear re-labels itself as a Break Armor mod of the same strength.
  • The Rogue learns two new tricks. Surefooted (Tier 2) turns evasion into avoidance: each melee attack you evade stacks up bonus parry chance, wiped the moment a melee hit actually lands on you. Pocket Sand (Tier 3) punishes the attacker whose blow you avoided - an evade, parry, block or resisted spell has a chance to fling sand, dropping all of the attacker's attack skills by 30 for 20 seconds. Both are on Class Abilities.
  • Acid Proc buys damage now, not chance. The Rogue's acid proc fires at a flat 25% on every weapon hit at every rank; rank instead raises the poison damage it and Poison Weapon deal, by +25/50/75%. The Item Tinkering affinity moves with it, feeding damage rather than chance.
  • Fellowships get consent rules. /fship join now only walks you into a fellowship that is Open - a closed one needs an invite - and /fship addlandblock sends everyone a normal invite instead of pulling them in unasked. See Fellowships.
  • Fellowship earnings count who is actually there. Kill experience and Luminance are now split over the fellows present with you, not the whole roster - a fellow logged off across the world neither earns nor dilutes. And quest experience is no longer split at all: a turn-in pays the character who did it, in full, every time.
  • Trade-note vendors reach into your bank. Any vendor or station priced in Trade Notes (250,000) draws the shortfall from your banked pyreals at face value once your pack notes run out, pack first. Buying no longer means withdrawing.

Fixes

  • Other players' jumps look like jumps again. A character jumping used to glide or teleport when seen from a distance; the jump now animates correctly for everyone watching.
  • You can no longer land in two fellowships at once. A timing quirk let a player be counted into a second fellowship while an invite from the first was still resolving; the second add is now refused.
