The Meridian Commendation is a small sapphire gem, the only medal the Meridian gives out, and it gives it only once. It is the capstone reward for the first clearing of First Pin, the deepest of the six Drift Network south wing doors, on top of that door's Meridian Keystone.
Overview
The wing does not decorate its people. Instead, the first character to go all the way down the First Pin is entered into a column of the ledger the Dispatcher never explains, and handed this one gem for the trouble. Its use prompt is direct about what it is for: "Use this commendation to claim one class ability point." Using it, the first time, grants one Class Ability Point - a permanent addition to what a character can spend with the Meridian's class trainers, on top of whatever the Reckoning-Stone or ordinary advancement has already earned.
Using the gem again, once its one-time grant has already been claimed, does nothing further; the wing's reward is the single point, not a repeatable one.
"The wing does not give medals. It gives one of these, once, and enters your name in a column the Dispatcher does not explain."
