Drift-Touched Tusker are the common herd filling Busy Door, the door the Meridian has never once gotten the count to stand still on. A far stronger strain of the same creature holds the top landing of First Pin at the other end of the south wing ladder.
They are a tusker, and the wrong colour for one - the deep-water teal of the drift itself, the same tell the starter arc's own drift-touched creatures wear. Busy Door opens onto grazing country that reads, at a glance, like anywhere else east of Holtburg, and quietly is not. The herd came through that seam and has been grazing it ever since, unaware of anything wrong with the pasture under their feet.
Where it appears
The ladder's first rung and its last both open on this same herd, deliberately: the capstone restates the climb's opening note at the strength a graduating party is expected to handle.

At the top landing of First Pin they are thin on the ground and thin in threat compared to what waits below them. Meeting them first is a reminder of where the climb began, not a real test of it.
