Patch 2026-08-30 build c6f5d6ff8

Patch 2026-08-30 - the world-event tuning round. Events now spawn monsters at and above the crowd's level, random events draw two monster families with one always fit for a low-level crowd, the boss tunes its own damage to the strongest player present, progress and boss health are called out server-wide, and the reward caches sparkle. Alongside that: Field-Marshal Oswyn Cray pays wave tiers again, the mule vault takes anything you could hand to another player, life drains no longer bounce off drain-immune monsters, and Multishot's extra arrows follow your real aim line. This page covers everything player-facing since Patch 2026-08-29.

Changes and tuning

  • Event monsters spawn at and above your level. A world event used to draw its rank and file from a little below your level to a little above it. It now draws from your level up to half again as high, and its elites from a quarter above you to three-quarters above. Each monster is sized against one of the players present, so a mixed crowd still gets a mixed spawn.
  • Random events draw two monster families. Instead of one family for the whole event, a random event picks two and mixes them wave by wave: one of them always has members low enough for a level-50 crowd, and at least one brings spellcasters. A low-level crowd no longer gets a family whose youngest member is level 135. The event announcement names both families.
  • The boss reads the room. A named event boss now adjusts how hard it hits to the players it is actually fighting, so the strongest player present dies in about three clean hits. It measures its own landed hits and corrects itself as the fight goes on. A low-level player can still be one-shot.
  • Event progress goes server-wide. While an event runs, a [World Event] line every two minutes reports the goal's progress, the current wave and the time remaining. A named boss's arrival is announced to everyone, and its health is called out at three-quarters, half and a quarter.
  • Weave Caches sparkle. The reward caches at the end of an event burst with the max-skill sparkle when they appear, and again every 30 seconds until the claim window closes, so nobody misses one.
  • Life drains always land for something. Harm, Drain Health and Martyr's Hecatomb used to drain nothing at all from plated tuskers, golems, wisps, crystals and a handful of bosses, and next to nothing from several hundred more. Every monster now takes at least 75% of a life drain; monsters that already took more are unchanged. Stamina and mana drains are untouched. See the Blood Mage.

Fixes

  • Field-Marshal Oswyn Cray pays wave tiers again. Since 18 August he had been reading a score the Proving Grounds no longer wrote, and told everyone "The Mire has not counted you yet." He now reads the live one, and a best score set before the change still counts. See Proving Grounds.
  • The mule vault takes anything you could hand to another player. It used to refuse anything a town vendor would not buy, pyreal nuggets among them. The vault's rule is now the give rule: if you could hand it to a player, you can store it. Attuned items still stay out, a pet essence must have its pet unsummoned first, and town vendors are unchanged. See Mule storage.
  • Multishot's extra arrows follow your real aim line. The extra targets were picked on a flat map, so a monster far above or below you with the same footing could be chosen and the extra arrow would visibly fire straight up or down at it. Extra targets are now picked in a cone around the line your bow is actually pointed along.
