Patch 2026-09-02 - the effigy round. A new Marketplace vendor sells effigies that let you take a monster's body for your storage mule, your banked pyreals become one pool shared by every character on the account, and the mule vault gains a search filter. This page covers everything player-facing since Patch 2026-08-31.
New content
- Vardo the Effigist. A mad undead effigist now keeps a stall in the Marketplace. He sells a blank Beast Effigy for 50 Marketplace Discs, and three ready-filled effigies for 5 Discs each: the Bokrok Lugian, the Drudge Prowler and the Outcast Monouga.
- Take a monster's body for your mule. Use a blank Beast Effigy on any living monster to attune it to that kind, then land the killing blow on 100 of them to fill it. The effigy shows its progress as a fill meter. Using the filled effigy in the Marketplace gives your mule that creature's body, and the choice is remembered for the whole account, so every character's mule wears it.
- Banked pyreals pay at Vardo. Buying from Vardo draws on your Currency Bank once the Discs in your pack run out, so you do not need to withdraw first.
- The stock mule has been recoloured to match the Bokrok Lugian, trading its bronze and dark skin for tan and grey-blue.
Changes and tuning
- One pyreal bank per account. Your banked pyreals are no longer tied to the character who deposited them. Every character on your account now draws on a single shared pool, and your existing balances are merged into it automatically the first time the new world comes up, including balances left on deleted characters. Luminance, legendary keys and promissory notes remain per character.
- A drift-stoned weapon is yours to keep. Using a Prismatic Drift Stone on a weapon now leaves it attuned and bonded: it can no longer be given to another player, put in a trade window or dropped on the ground, and it stays in your pack when you die instead of landing on your corpse. Vendors will still buy it. Weapons that already carry a stronger content-set status keep the one they have.
/mule search <pattern>. Filter your mule vault down to the entries whose item name or spells match what you type; a bare/mule searchclears the filter again. See Custom commands./fship addlandblockskips staff. Mass-inviting everyone on your landblock no longer pulls in staff characters who happen to be standing nearby and dividing the experience. Advocates are still invited as before.- Zero-value rares fit the mule's sell pane. A rare with no listed value can now be dragged into your mule's sell pane instead of being refused on the drag. Ordinary town vendors still will not buy it.
Fixes
- The unhittable Corrosive Pillar. During the "destroy the acid source" objective, one of the pillars was built as scenery rather than a target, so arrows, bolts and spells passed straight through it and it could never be destroyed. It now takes damage and dies like the other four.
- Your account quest total counts each quest once. A quest finished by two of your characters was being counted twice toward the account-wide stamp total shown by
/myquests. It now counts each distinct quest a single time. Per-character progress and rewards are unchanged, and the total corrects itself at your next login. - The Gear Knight invasion runs. The Gear Knight and Aurex world event was reading its roster under two different names, so its waves came up empty. It now starts and populates correctly.
- One player can no longer stall the world. An error raised while handling a single player's request used to be able to stop the whole world simulation. Those errors are now contained to the player who caused them, and a world thread that stalls anyway is detected rather than left to hang the server through shutdown.
