Patch 2026-09-04 build ae5e9cd36

Patch 2026-09-04 - allegiance experience pass-up is rebalanced, and two defensive class abilities stop being blind to magic.

New content

  • Box of 50 Encapsulated Spirits - Sundries-Broker Rashid al-Munzir in the Marketplace now sells a box that opens in your pack to a stack of 50 Encapsulated Spirits, for 5 MMD.
  • /summondamage on|off - a chat line for every hit your own summoned pets land, so you can see what your summons are actually doing. Off by default, and you only ever see your own summons, never anyone else's. See Custom commands.

Changes & tuning

  • Allegiance experience pass-up now diminishes with the size of your following. It used to be a flat 25% of each vassal's experience to their patron, so a patron holding the full eleven vassals collected 275% of a single vassal's earnings, and a grandpatron with a full tree collected 605%. The per-vassal share now shrinks as a patron takes on more vassals: one vassal still passes 25%, and a patron at the eleven-vassal cap now collects 100% combined instead of 275%. Grandpatrons keep their one-fifth share of whatever the patron receives. Experience only - Luminance has never passed up and still does not. See Game systems#Allegiances.
  • World events announce themselves earlier. A teaser naming the anchor town now goes out three minutes before an event stages, instead of the old thirty-second warning being your only notice. The thirty-second staging call is unchanged, so you now get both.

Fixes

  • Mana Barrier now absorbs magic damage and damage-over-time ticks, not only melee and missile hits. The barrier was reaching only one of the game's damage paths, which made an ability keyed to Magic Defense useless against magic. Spell projectiles, Harm, Drain Health and lingering damage-over-time all divert to Mana now. The damage numbers you see are unchanged - the barrier is still a Mana-for-Health refund paid after the hit lands.
  • Sanguine Ward had the same gap and is fixed alongside it. A Blood Mage's ward stopped melee and missile hits but not the spell damage the class actually faces; it now absorbs every incoming damage type, damage-over-time included.
  • Market: buying a listing that was a group of equivalent stored items - several salvage bags of the same kind, for instance - delivered the whole group for one item's price. The sale now hands over exactly what was listed.
  • Market: item details on the trading site were wrong or missing in four ways. Workmanship on a salvage bag read as the accumulated total (117 instead of 1.17) and now shows the per-unit value; cloak and Aetheria Surge procs never appeared and now have their own line; wand and gem primary spells were missing from the spell list and are back; and a caster's damage type had no way to reach the site at all.
