Patch 2026-07-29 - the alpha content set. The Meridian's south wing opens all the way down: six new dungeons on a level ladder, a reward piece for each, and a capstone that pays in Class Ability Points. Equipment modification arrives alongside it. This page covers everything player-facing since Patch 2026-07-23.
New content
- The south wing ladder - six new dungeons open off the Drift Network hall, meant to be run in order: Busy Door, Rusting Door, Held Door, Breathing Door, Miscounted Door and First Pin. Each rung is a step up in creature strength, from a straightforward cull at the top to a driven descent at the bottom, and each has its own standing tally paid by the warden at its alcove. The doors let you in earlier than they expect you to survive - the entry gate on each is deliberately lower than the level the hall behind it is tuned for.
- Meridian reward pieces - clearing a rung for the first time pays out that rung's piece of the Meridian set, six in all across the ladder. They are one-time grants; the tally itself stays repeatable.
- First Pin pays in Class Ability Points - the capstone additionally awards a Meridian Commendation the first time it is cleared, worth one Class Ability Point. It is the first source of a point outside the Reckoning-Stone.
- Dispatcher Corwen Hale and the six wardens - the hall's south branch is now staffed. Corwen Hale routes arrivals to the right door for their level, and each alcove has its own warden who sets and pays that rung's tally.
- Equipment Mods - eligible armour, cloaks and jewelry can now carry rolled bonuses, each tied to one Class Ability. Applied with salvaged Tiger Eye or Obsidian on an item in your pack; every application rolls its own strength, so trading is the normal way to chase a good one.
- Prismatic Drift Stone and Attuned Drift Prisms - a new tinkering line, including eight elementally attuned prisms.
- Gold-shelled eggs at the Rookery - Aun Tehaura the Drumspeaker now takes a second kind of work alongside his kill tally: gold-shelled clutch eggs recovered from the nest. See The Unanswered Rookery.
- Salvage-Broker Bevan Tolliver - a new broker in the Marketplace travel alcove selling tinkering gems and both ready-to-apply salvage bags, everything on his shelf for a single Trade Note.
- Twelve more Facility Hub portals - the two trophy collectors' rooms on the hub's lower level now reach every dungeon that drops what they accept, ten portals in the Olthoi room and fifteen in the tusker room. See Facility Hub portals.
- The Marketplace travel alcove - the Marketplace corner is now a proper three-door junction, with stone guide pillars in front of each portal so you stop walking through one by accident, and named stall-keepers trading at the nearest stands. See Marketplace facilities.
Changes and tuning
- Quest turn-ins now pay coin as well as experience - every repeatable turn-in hands over Trade Notes on top of what it already paid. The four Unbidden Doors town quests pay 2 notes (500,000 pyreals) alongside their Driftwarden's Mark; the Drift Network keepers, including Coriel the Anchor-Clerk and Aun Tehaura the Drumspeaker, pay 5 notes (1,250,000 pyreals).
- Class Ability token prices were rebalanced across the trainers' catalogue.
- The Meridian Commendation has new art and now says plainly what using it does, so it no longer reads as tinkering salvage.
- The hall's garrison grew - the Meridian now keeps seven patrolling soldiers on the south branch rather than four. They still do not fight your battles. See Meridian soldiers.
- Portal names lost their articles - the Unbidden Doors portals and the south wing's doors are now named without a leading "The", matching the way the rest of Dereth names its doors.
Fixes
- Fellowship members who left and rejoined are no longer locked out of sharing by the leech guard.
- Drift Network signage and several NPCs and props that faced the wrong way have been turned round.
- Two south wing rungs paid out a completion reward without the kill that was supposed to earn it. Both now require the kill.
